Our responsibility towards society
MetLife has helped generations of people around the world protect their finances, property, family and future.
In this process, we have demonstrated our commitment to protecting families, serving communities and strengthening society as a whole.
Since 2013, we have invested $ 4.6 billion worldwide in the green economy, in building development infrastructure, in supporting education and research, and in dealing with emergencies following natural disasters. The MetLife Foundation, founded in 1976, has so far donated more than $ 853 million in grants and programs.
Today, the Foundation is committed to promoting financial inclusion, allocating $ 200 million over the next five years to help create a safer and fairer future for all.
In Cyprus, we have designed a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program, which firmly supports, with a wide range of actions, the support of institutions with significant social work.
In recent years, in collaboration with the MetLife Foundation, we have invested in actions that mainly include supporting young people in Cyprus, funding training programs and strengthening youth entrepreneurship, empowering and supporting vulnerable social groups and meeting emergencies. We cooperate with Organizations such as the Cyprus Cancer Association, Special Olympics, Junior Achievement etc.
Through this process we have demonstrated our commitment to making life better for the communities we live in and for society at large.
